Description
Namalok nature reserve is a high-biodiversity conservation area located just outside Moshi town at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Known for its rich birdlife (over 170 species recorded, including storks, flamingoes, and eagles), it serves as a crucial natural spot for bike tours, birdwatching, nature walks, and as a scenic venue. The reserve is home to various species, including the White-faced Whistling-Duck, Egyptian Goose, Flamingos (Greater and Lesser), and the African Fish-Eagle.
Itinerary
After breakfast in moshi town the ride starts to namalok nature reserve ,the road is paved until the entrance of the reserve ,after registration the ride will continue accompanied with ranger on the bike ,round trip will be approximately 40km (4-5hrs ), the road inside the namalok is offroad and mostly sunny & hot ,ride back to moshi town after lunch or it is possible to drive to/from namalok and start the ride from there to avoid busy roads
